Business Impact Survey

In terms of economic benefits Gardner Pinfold reported that the termination of the service had a dramatic impact on the hospitality sector not only in the southwestern part of the province but throughout the whole province. They estimated the employment loss at 260 full-time jobs and the impact on tourism spending 0f $16.3M. The study also linked the drop in USA tourism traffic directly to the curtailment of the ferry service.
